What direction should flooring be laid?
What direction should your parquet slats be laid in your rooms?
In theory and according to "conventional" use, the slats should be laid in the direction of the main light source of the room. For example, if you have a space with a single window, your slats should be placed at right angles. But this is only a theory that does not consider the proportions of the room and its use.
First ask yourself several questions, what effect would you like to give to your room?
Extend or enlarge it? What is it used for? The parquet should not be laid We will not lay in the same direction in a room or in a corridor.

To enlarge a room?
To balance the volumes, we recommend that you lay your slats parallel to the smallest side of your room.
To lengthen a space, the parquet should be laid in parallel to the longest side. You must also consider the direction of passage in your room. Indeed, in a corridor we will tend to pose in the direction of travel.
Example:
2 bedrooms facing each other and separated by a corridor: will you lay your parquet in the same direction in these 3 spaces? We recommend changing the laying direction to delimit the spaces while respecting the directions of foot traffic.
For a professional project, we advise you to establish a layout plan to share with your installer and so that you will know the quantity of parquet slats necessary.
In conclusion everything is possible ... Don't worry, the fit and the good quality of Decoplus parquet allow you to lay it in the direction of your choice!
