Parquet Point de Hongrie invisible : entre tradition et élégance contemporaine

In the heart of the Marais district, in this small 18th-century flat that has been brilliantly reinvented, the Invisible Selection Chevron parquet flooring with its unfinished wood look becomes the key to the balance of the project by JiaHao Liao, founder of LIAO Design.

Its ultra-matt finish preserves the grain of the oak and provides a soft base that unifies the spaces: it tempers the monochrome effect of the textured oak laminate kitchen, highlights the 18th-century fireplace and the geometry of the claustra wardrobes in the bedroom, and captures the light from the bow-window-style glass roof.

Echoing the light wood joinery and lime plaster, this chevron parquet visually stretches a low-ceilinged flat, reinforces the desired verticality and instils a contemporary serenity without betraying the heritage spirit.

More than just flooring, it connects materials and volumes, sets the warm tone-on-tone feel of the space and gives each room a discreet and lasting sophistication.

In the living room, interior shutters in the style of claustra accentuate the verticality and add character, compensating for the 2.15 m ceiling height of the apartment.

In the kitchen, textured, veined, oak-effect laminate fronts unify the elements, creating a soft, monochrome look.

This small room serves as both a guest bedroom and a workspace. A foldable desk nestles into a door frame. Venture Home lamp; Kave Home armchair.

The room is bathed in light thanks to a large bow window with fluted glass. In the evening, long Tapisserie Bulard & Cie curtains on rails provide privacy.

The curved entrance hallway is lit by a patiently restored arched window. Quincalux door handles. Modelec switches.

A lithograph by André Marfaing is displayed on a bespoke daybed. In front of it is a Ferm Living side table. There is an Astro Lighting reading lamp.

The geometric pattern of the Invisible Selection Chevron Parquet flooring is echoed in the shutters and claustra-style wall elements.

The wardrobes in the master bedroom also feature the claustra motif, lending an airy verticality and elegant geometry. The materials interact: the original marble fireplace, the Invisible Selection Chevron parquet flooring, and the Arcane Industries lime paint on the walls and ceilings. The bed and bedside tables are from Kave Home, the mirror is from NV Gallery and the bedding is from Westwing.

In the shower, a minimalist bench and niche interact with aged brass Hotbath Spots fittings: Wever & Ducré.

The bedroom features an 18th-century fireplace that has been preserved. Built-in storage units blend discreetly into the room on either side, painted in a shade similar to the Arcane Industries lime paint applied to the walls and ceiling.
